The Bengals escaped Tennessee with a win against the Titans and will advance to the team’s first conference title game since 1988.

The 19-16 win on the road also marks the Bengals’ first playoff win on the road in the organization’s history. Both quarterbacks threw a combined total of four interceptions, and a pick off a pass from Ryan Tannehill gave the Bengals a field goal opportunity that cost the Titans the game.

Quarterback Joe Burrow completed 28 of 37 passes for 348 yards with an interception, but the Titans made several third-down stops that limited the Bengals’ scoring chances. Rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase led with five receptions for 109 yards. His performance set a record as becoming the first rookie to record over 100 receiving yards in the playoffs. Running back Joe Mixon led the Bengals with 14 carries for 54 yards and scored Cincinnati’s only touchdown of the night.

On the other hand, quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw three interceptions that cost multiple scoring chances for the Titans. He completed 14 of 24 passes for 220 yards with a score. He set the stage on the first play of the game and threw an interception that allowed the Bengals to score a field goal in the first three minutes. However, he connected with wide receiver A.J. Brown on five catches for 142 yards and scored a touchdown in the second quarter.

With the win in the divisional round of the playoffs, the Bengals will advance to the team’s first AFC championship game in 34 years. The team will travel on the road to face the winner of the Chiefs vs. Bills game, which will be determined on Sunday night in Kansas City.
