LEGENDARY Corrie actor Bill Roache has been featured on the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.
Coronation Street actor William Roache has said he is “delighted” to have been made an OBE.
The 89-year-old, who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-serving TV soap star in the world, has been honoured for his services to drama and charity.
“I’m delighted to be receiving an OBE as it’s such a wonderful honour. I can’t tell you how proud I am,” he said.
“Coronation Street has given me so much in life and I absolutely love the programme and everyone who works on the show.”

Kate Garraway made MBE in Queen’s New Years Honours
Kate Garraway has been made an MBE in the New Year Honours after documenting her husband Derek Draper’s battle with coronavirus.
The TV presenter, 54, has been recognised for her services to broadcasting, journalism and charity. She is a well-known face on ITV, having presented multiple shows including Good Morning Britain, GMTV and Lorraine in a career spanning several decades.
In September 2021 she won the authored documentary prize at the National Television Awards for her hard-hitting documentary Finding Derek.
The programme charted her family’s struggle to get her husband home from hospital after he became seriously ill with Covid-19 in March 2020.
Though Draper, a former political adviser, is now free of the virus, he has sustained long-lasting damage to his organs and his recovery is ongoing.
A sequel, titled Caring For Derek, will show the period following Derek’s return home as Garraway navigates the challenges of the social care system. It is set to air in 2022.

EastEnders star Max Bowden poses with girlfriend after Xmas
EASTENDERS actor Max Bowden shared a snap of his rarely-seen girlfriend Roisin Buckle after enjoying a ‘blinding’ Christmas together.
Uploading the image to his Instagram page, Max wrote: “Christmas over for another year. Looking forward to the new year especially after this one.
“Had a blinder with Rodderz. @roisinbuckle”.
She’s been by Max’s side as he’s suffered the heartache of losing three friends in just one year.

Corrie’s Tracy Shaw looks unrecognisable 18 years after character
CORONATION Street star Tracy Shaw is unrecognisable 18 years after starring on the long-running soap.
The actress, 48, looked a world away from the cobbles as she shared a snap of herself behind the scenes at a theatre.
Tracy most recently starred as Anabelle in The Cat and the Canary, sharing pictures on Instagram of the play’s run in Lichfield and Leeds.
Posting a smiling snap of herself in character in the theatre dressing room, she wrote: “Last 2 shows playing Annabelle west at the grand theatre Leeds ?
“we started this play before we’d even heard of Covid , on our second leg of tour, 3 lateral tests a week for Covid we’ve been able to open many theatres , and hopefully entertained our audiences with an amazing cast !
“I feel very emotional to say good bye today to a wonderful part ?
“Thank you to all the theatres and audiences and our wonderful cast, most of all our backstage crew ?????without them the show doesn’t happen ?”.

AL Chapman’s ongoing feud with the Dingle family is not set to be resolved any time soon.
An upcoming episode of Emmerdale will see the businessman (Michael Wildman) make a veiled death threat to Cain Dingle, targeting 10-year-old Kyle.
In recent weeks, Al’s plan to sabotage The Woolpack and turn it into luxury flats has made him into one of most unpopular characters in the ITV soap.
But as tensions grow between him and the Dingles, Al also has to deal with Gavin, a business partner determined to get his money back, no matter the cost.
Viewers have suspected that the thug could take his frustrations out on Ellis, Al’s 24-year-old son.

Inside the stunning pad, the kitchen appears to be the heart of the house, with the actress posting photos in there with her children, cooking, enjoying a cup of coffee or receiving large bouquets of flowers positioned on the black granite worktop.

EASTENDERS fans are in shock after Phil Mitchell fled Walford with son Raymond.
The Walford hardman – who is played by actor Steve McFadden in the BBC soap – is being hunted by police for Vincent Hubbard’s murder.#
Viewers know he didn’t kill Vincent, Aidan Maguire did, but the Fox’s don’t care and have conspired to have him arrested.
In tonight’s episode he discovered the plot and planned to snatch son Raymond and flee for another life.

EastEnders shock as Rocky left to die following heart attack
EASTENDERS viewers are in shock after Rocky was left to die after collapsing with a heart attack.
Falling to the floor, he clutched his chest and it was clear he had another heart attack.
He was left to die, leaving fans in shock.
One said: “Hope this is not the end of Rocky, I like him.”
Another wrote: “Oh no rocky is brown bread”
A third mused: “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say Shirley was feeling a bit sorry for Rocky. Like she’s a saint or in a position to judge anyway. It was just a few months ago she hit Phil over the head and left him for dead and was pushing drugs on the side with Jean”

When will Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders be on?
The soaps decided to air hour-long episodes on New Year’s Eve instead, with fans being able to see out 2021 with their favourite characters.
Typically Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
Emmerdale usually airs from Monday to Friday, while a double bill is scheduled on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
EastEnders typically airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One.

Why have soaps been cancelled on New Year’s Day?
Fans of Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street will be bitterly disappointed to hear the major soaps will not be showing any episodes today (January 1, 2022).
Despite New Year’s Day being one of the most anticipated episodes with typically explosive storylines, the three soaps have decided to scrap the custom.
With New Year’s Day, January 1, falling on a Saturday, the New Year’s Day episodes will not air.
Although Christmas episodes are aired regardless of the day the celebration falls on, the same rule does not apply to New Year’s Day.

Emmerdale horror as Meena confesses
EMMERDALE’S Manpreet Sharma has finally discovered the full extent of her sister Meena Jutla’s sickening crimes.
The captive doctor – who is played by actress Rebecca Sarker in the ITV soap – was horrified last night as Meena confessed to all of her killings.
Having her sister captive in her upstairs bedroom – Meena decided to confess everything she had done to get Manpreet’s full reaction.
Viewers are terrified for Manpreet.
One wrote: “Every time Meena is on the telly she has me enraged!!!
she’s definitely the villain of all villains.”

Explained: Why did Tristan Gemmill leave Corrie?
Tristan Gemmill, 54, dramatically left the show back in 2019, when his character died on Christmas Day.
He gets caught in the crossfire as Derek Milligan decides to get revenge on Gary Windass after their business partnership soured.
Derek furiously wields a gun in the Rovers and during the firefight Robert is fatally shot.
Tristan originally joined Corrie in 2015, but devastated fans when he tweeted n April 2019: “Folks, I just wanted to let you know that the time has come for me to hang up the chef’s gear and head for pastures new.”
His most dramatic storylines on the cobbles have included an affair with Carla O’Connor, fighting testicular cancer and having a secret baby behind Michelle’s back.

Tracy is best known for her years playing hairdresser Maxine Peacock between 1995 and 2003.
But her run on the show came to an end when she was brutally murdered by Richard Hillman.
Maxine, was married to butcher Ashley and had a young son Joshua, was famously killed by Richard who beat her with a crowbar after she returned home from the pub.
Tracy first appeared on the cobbles as a friend of Fiona Middleton and her time there saw her have a one-night stand with Fiona’s boyfriend – Steve MacDonald.

Corrie’s Tim receives terrifying health diagnosis
In an episode due on the air in the new year, the couple kick-start 2022 with a new and healthy lifestyle and book their own health checks with Dr. Gaddas.
However, when Sally passes her test and deems that both of them deserve a treat, Tim is reluctant.
He then appears taking a furtive phone call to confirm an appointment, leaving Sally none the wiser.
Tim later refuses to join Sally for a run, insisting that he needs to go to work.
A text appearing on his phone confirms a medical appointment that afternoon at 3pm, which he nervously attends.
As it turns out, Tim has booked an appointment with a cardiology consultant and soon finds out he will need a massive operation to avoid death.
Despite the worrying diagnosis, Tim still refuses to tell Sally anything, which only prompts her to think the worst.
When Peter tells her Tim lied and never went to work after skipping his run with her, Sally is uneasy and quickly assumes that her husband may be embarrassed to be seen with her.

CORONATION Street star Paddy Wallace tied the knot with his beautiful bride in a stunning winter wonderland wedding.
The actor – who played Jude Appleton in ITV soap from 2016 to 2019 – shared the magical moment with his followers.
The TV star, who has also appeared in Hollyoaks and Games of Thrones, gushed over his dazzling bride and shared a sweet snap of her on their wedding day.
