Man dies after shooting at North Raleigh apartment complex
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Police said Saturday that a man died after a shooting at an apartment complex in North Raleigh late Friday afternoon.
The incident was reported just before 5:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Sunbow Falls Lane, according to a news release from Raleigh police.

German navy chief resigns following Ukraine comments
BERLIN (AP) — The head of the German navy resigned late Saturday after coming under fire at home and abroad for comments he made on Ukraine and Russia.
Speaking at an event in India on Friday, vice admiral Kay-Achim Schoenbach had said Ukraine would not regain the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014. Schoenbach also said it was important to have Russia on the same side against China, and suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin deserved “respect.”

COVID-19 in pregnant women may trigger fetal inflammation
DETROIT, Mich. (StudyFinds.org) – Pregnant women are at a higher risk of complications from COVID-19, and a new study finds that it can also harm their unborn child. A team from Wayne State University has found evidence that SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID, can create fetal inflammation even if there is no placental infection.
COVID-19 infection during pregnancy increases the risk of preterm birth, stillbirth, and pre-eclampsia — or high blood pressure which damages the organs.
