BOYS BASKETBALL
Canfield 63, Hubbard 41 – After jumping out to a 25-9 first quarter lead, the Canfield Cardinals never looked back en route to a 22 point victory Tuesday night. Dylan Shapiro led the way with a team and game-high 21 points while Jake Grdic added 16 and Zane Muckleroy added 12. Riley Heckert led Hubbard with 20 points.
Poland 28, Boardman 26 – The Bulldogs snuck past the Spartans Tuesday night in a tightly contested defensive battle that came down to the wire. Jack Fulton scored the game-winning basket for Poland on a putback off a Christian Colosimo missed shot. Colosimo scored a game-high 15 points. Luke Ryan led the Spartans with 10 points.
Cardinal Mooney 47, Canton Central 13 – In a strong defensive effort, The Cardinals (6-3) shut down Canton Central, limiting them to single digits in all four quarters before cruising to their sixth win of the season. Rocco Turner scored 16 for Mooney and Jack Pepperney added 12.
Austintown Fitch 51, GlenOak 50 – Despite a late fourth-quarter charge by GlenOak, the Falcons came out victorious Tuesday night in a thriller. Allen Underwood led the charge with 24 points and Giani Maley chipped in with 10.
Columbiana 62, Edison 24 – Nick Million scored 19 points and Ashton Kakavros added 12 as the Clippers cruised past Edison. Devin Daugherty added 11 points for Columbiana and Carter Murphy scored 10.
Howland 52, Sharon 17 – The Tigers limited Sharon to just 10 first half points and seven in the second to earn a dominating victory Tuesday night. Anthony Massucci scored a team-high 17 points as 12 Tigers scored.
Springfield 67, South Range 58 (3OT) – In a triple-overtime thriller, the Tigers held off the Raiders in an instant-classic. Adam Wharry hit a cluth 3-pointer late in the game and Seandelle Gardner also added two key scores in overtime. Wharry led Springfield with 21 points in the win and Jake Joyce addedn 15 while Alex Rothwell scored 13. Ayden Leon tied Wharry for game-high honors with 21 points and Mark Naples added 13 for South Range. South Range same out strong in the second half to bounce back from a tough first half, but the Tigers ultimately held them scoreless in the final overtime.
West Branch 50, Salem 25 – An impressive defensive effort from the Warriors led to an easy win over the Quakers. Dru DeShields led West Branch with 15 points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Brookfield 47, Columbiana 32 – Led by a 19-point performance from Sophia Hook and another 14 from Audrey Reardon the Warriors cruised to a 15 point victory Tuesday night. Tori Long led the Clippers with 13 points.
