OREM, Utah (KUTV) —
It’s moving day for a 140-year-pioneer home discovered in Orem.
The rock foundation the home sat on near 1600 North off State Street since the late 1800s is all that’s left on the land now.
Tuesday morning, crews moved the home to store it safely for the winter and to prep it for restoration.
The current landowners chose to donate the log cabin to Orem City.
City leaders purchased land recently and are creating a heritage park where the house will eventually go.
That park will be located at 400 South and 400 West in Orem on the land of an old apple orchard.
Park construction will happen over the next two to three years.
