What to Know
The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder will face off in a Northwest Division clash at 8 p.m. ET Jan. 7 at Paycom Center. The Timberwolves won’t have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy a 5-point advantage in the spread.
Oklahoma City is out to make up for these teams’ contest on Wednesday. Minnesota walked away with a 98-90 victory. They can attribute much of their success to point guard Patrick Beverley, who shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and finished with 20 points and six dimes, and shooting guard Anthony Edwards, who had 22 points in addition to five steals and five rebounds.
Minnesota’s win brought them up to 18-20 while OKC’s loss pulled them down to 13-24. Two offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Minnesota has only been able to knock down 43.20% percent of their shots, which is the fourth lowest field goal percentage in the league. Oklahoma Cities have had an even harder time: they have only been able to knock down 41.30% percent of their shots, which is the lowest field goal percentage in the league. It could be a slow night.
