A crash on a snowy Highway 89/91 that left a woman injured forced the closure of the southbound lanes in Sardine Canyon
Sgt. Roden with Utah Highway Patrol told 2News a semi truck was traveling southbound on the State Road at milepost 11.
The area was experiencing lowered visibility due to blowing snow at the time.
The semi lost control and jackknifed then crossed all the southbound lanes.
One car noticed the semi and was able to swerve out of the way. A second car, a Nissan Pathfinder, hit the semi trailer.
A 53-year-old woman was transported to the hospital in serious condition. An initial call of helicopter transport was canceled.
The road is shut down from milepost 12 to milepost 17 southbound.
